I love Pizza Express. The man and I drove down to the Thane Pizza Express at Viviana Mall recently and it's such a gorgeous space. Themed after Mumbai's railway routes and in memoriam of the Thane Borivali line that the British laid, the space is works with luggage trunks, engine designs, tracks running across the room. Gorgeous.
Of course, it's not just the decor. Pizza Express has always been a warm, welcoming space with superbly trained pizza chefs, attentive servers and great food every single time. I'd go so far as to say that every time I am in driving distance of a PE, I choose to go there instead of experimenting. Don't get me wrong, I love trying out new places but PE is rock solid dependable if you are looking for a great meal and culinary experience.
PE made a few new additions to their menu recently and I had the chance to go sample them. The entire menu is fairly balanced - vegetarian, poultry, sea food and red meats. Here's what I tried from the vegetarian menu:

This is the Watermelon Feta & Arugula Salad. Peppered with olives, cucumber, this one is fresh, crunchy and the perfect salad to tuck into on a hot summer day. TBH, I did gobble up the feta and rocket first :D They also have a Tomato and Mozarella Salad which I did not sample - but do try!
I tried this Pomodoro Pesto pizza from their Romana Pizza section - delectable. They also have a Cipola Piccante Romana Pizza - did not try, it's your thing if you like the sound of this combo (jalapenos, green chilli, onions), Risotto Funghi con Pesto (portobello mushrooms, basil pesto, rocket, shaved emilgrana).
Two new desserts, both Primo Gelatos, two robust flavours. I tried the Raspberry Cheesecake Gelato - dear god, this was so good. I am not even a big gelato fan, to be honest. But this really won me over. Would I go to a PE and choose this over their seriously delicious cheesecake and banoffee pie? Umm, maybe :)
This is their other gelato, Mocha Almond. Very, very good if you are a mocha fan. I am more of a cheesecake gal so I'd vote for the raspberry cheesecake gelato but go see what floats your raft!
