Faaso's - Wraps On The Run!

How many of you know that I conduct baking classes? I do. Details are on www.BakeYou.com

So I have classes almost every other day, through weekdays and weekends. Most of these classes start by 12ish and run into 5pm. Which means that when the classes close and I am done washing up, cleaning up and tidying, I am pretty much dead.

Exhausted. And those are brunch days coz I don't eat what I bake with my students. They take it home with them. And post class, when I am half brain-nuked with hunger, what do I do? Usually throw in a salad, a sandwich, or some quick fruit. Or call Faaso's. Because sometimes, you need real food.

They don't serve alcohol. They sell Wraps On The Run. I usually go with the whole wheat wraps over the maida wraps because I am not a fan of maida rolls. But loyalists of wraps and rolls, if you go with maida, I will let you live.

They have also started with some rice options, again on the run. I order this if I am particularly hungry. It is a Paneer Biryani. It is Basmati rice, with paneer tikkas on a bed below the rice in a ghee dripping sauce. It really fills you up. It's delicious, but I do miss some coriander on it. A dash of green, honestly.

That is half way through my Paneer Biryani from Faasos.

The curries they serve wrapped up inside their rolls are beyond delicious. I personally highly recommend the Mushroom Tikka Wrap, I could live on that. Big chunky mushrooms in a lovely marinade. Then there is the Mix Veg Wrap - how does that even end up tasting so good, I am clueless. Part hunger, part awesome recipe, I am sure.

I love their little carry bags and their convenient ready to travel packaging. And the funky little captions written all over it. I probably love them even more coz one day when I called for a wrap, they were nice enough to tell me that is is available but not fresh so they recommended something else instead. Unlike most places that would probably try to sell off what's about to go bad first.

They also give you some desserts, mostly brownies. I tried those but I make seriously good brownies so my standards are way too high. Which means I have not been impressed by those. Yet.

They also let you make it a meal, with some potato chips, a dessert thrown in, a soft drink to go. Most people can live on that.

With rice, they have an Aloo Mutter on rice option, Paneer on Basmati option. And the Paneer Biryani of course. They also have non veg wraps, for the meat eaters. The man highly recommends their Egg Wrap and Eggs & Potato Wrap. They have also introduced some new wraps like Veg Pizza Pataka and Chana Chatpata. Yum, those are!

Also, the exciting bit is, they are now not just in Mumbai but also in Bangalore! I hope they have more branches. I love their wraps, they are convenient and very reasonable too. Wraps start at 35 bucks and go on to 90 bucks. They usually deliver at home / office for orders over 100 bucks and they ALSO TAKE ORDERS ON TWITTER! I know they do this for Mumbai already and I guess they are on their way to doing it for Bangalore soon.

So show them some love. Coz in a long time, I have finally found a place that ticks all the boxes for me - yummy, decent pricing, great service and ready to innovate! And the few times they goof up, because everybody is human after all, they know exactly how to make it up to you :)
